How can I file my tax return online?
You will receive an invitation to file a tax return. You can then create an account for Mijn Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland at home. How to do this can be found below under the question "How do I create an account?". If you have already submitted your tax return online, go to the portal and log in with the details known to you.
How do I create an account?
If you are in possession of a CRIB number, a Sedula or Chamber of Commerce number and have an e-mail address, you can create an account. To create an account, do the following:
1. Go to the homepage of Mijn Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland
2. Click on the link "Create account"
3. Go through the steps. Confirm your input by clicking on 'next' after each step.
4. You will then receive an e-mail message to activate your account. The activation link in this e-mail is valid for 24 hours.
5. By clicking on the link in the e-mail, you can activate your account.
6. Your account is activated, you can now log in.
I cannot log in. What do I do?Please check if your username and password are correct. If you have forgotten your password, click on the link “Forgot Password”. Now enter your user name and email address. Confirm your entry by clicking on “OK”. You will receive an email stating that you have requested a new password for the online portal of BCN.
What languages can I use to file my tax return?
The IB online tax return can be filed in English or Dutch.
My activation code has expired. What do I do?
If your activation link has expired, you will need to request a new code. You can request a new code as follows:
1. Go to the login page and click on "Activation link expired?"
2. Enter your e-mail address here and press 'Request new activation link'.
3. You will receive an e-mail with regard to your application, which contains your new activation link and instructions on how to activate your account. This activation link is valid for 24 hours.
What is a CAPTCHA?
CAPTCHA is a completely automated public Turing Test to tell computers and humans apart. It enables B/CN to distinguish between people and so-called robots. The most frequently used CAPTCHA test is the one where you are shown a random series of (usually deformed) letters and/or numbers that you’ll have enter.
Why do I have to fill out my email address?
Your email address is important when creating your user account and for any further communication between you and B/CN. During the log-in procedure you will receive additional instructions and information by email. In addition, you can, for example, reset your password, this information will also be sent by e-mail.
How long will it take before my request for access to the online tax return application is approved?
Within (maximally) 3 working days you will receive news by email on whether or not your application has been approved.
Why do I need to request access to the online tax return application?
BCN attaches great importance to the security and authentication of your user data. This procedure ensures their proper protection.
How can I print my online tax return?
Via the overview screens of loonheffing and general spending tax you can click "Download pdf". The tax return will be generated in PDF format. You can save these and then print them. If the document does not open automatically, check if your browser reports that a pop-up is blocked. In this case, choose to allow pop-ups of this page.
Can I save my online tax return on my computer?
It is possible to save and save a copy of your online tax return on your computer. Click on the "Download pdf" link. The tax return will be generated in PDF format. You can then save this. There are certain types of bases, turnover or values I do not have. What do I need to fill in?

What happens if I close the application when I have not finished yet?
You do not have to complete the online tax return in one go. If you click on save, and then close, you can continue later where you left off. When you click through to the next screen, the previous screen is also saved automatically.
I do not have a scanner. How can I add an attachment?
If you do not have a scanner you can take a photo of the item that you want to include using your phone, for instance, email it to yourself and then upload it to the online application.
Why do I have to add attachments?
BCN has to be able to verify the information that you provide. Therefore we ask you to add attachments.
How do I send in my online tax return?
The online tax return is sent in digitally. When you have finished filling in all fields, you must digitally sign and send the online return. You can not return these tax returns on paper or have them stamped at the desk.
How do I sign my tax return?
After you have filled in your tax return and have confirmed all of the fields, you will be given the opportunity to sign the return. You sign your tax return by clicking on the button “Sign and send”. By doing so, you declare that you have completed your online return fully and truthfully and submit the online return. Your account serves as the digital signature when you send in your online tax return.
Can I also file an online return for someone else?
This is possible when someone authorizes you. For more information, go to the frequently asked questions about authorizing.
Can I see how much tax I will have to pay or will get back?In most cases, you immediately see whether money will be refunded to you or if you have to pay.
I have sent in my online tax return. What happens next?
Your online tax return is moved from 'Outstanding tax returns' to 'Online submitted tax returns'. You will receive an acknowledgment of receipt by e-mail with the statement "Your tax return has been submitted". Your online tax return will be processed in our system. In the online portal you can view, download and / or print your tax return for your administration.
What kind of attachments can I add?
The following file formats are permitted: pdf, doc, docx, png, jpg, jpeg, bmp, xls, xlsx, odt, ods and odp (max. 5mb per document, 5 guide lists and 150 invoices per online declaration). This can be done in the 'Add attachments: deductible ABB' screen. We can also ask you, as yet, to send the documents to us.
I have added the wrong attachment. How can I change it?
Have you added a wrong attachment? Then go back to the 'Add attachments: deductible ABB' screen to replace or delete the file. If you have added a second or multiple attachments then you have the option to delete these attachments. After filing the tax return, the attachments can no longer be changed. You can of course add / upload new attachments when adding or correcting.
I have made a mistake in filling out my tax return. What do I do?
If you have not digitally submitted your tax return yet, you can go back to the relevant field and correct the error. If you have already sent the online declaration, you must correct the error by means of an amendment or correction.
I have received an email from B/CN, but did not request anything. What should I do?
Is my data secure?
B/CN takes the safety of your information very seriously and makes every effort to properly secure your data.
Is filing my tax return online secure?
Security measures were taken to ensure that the functionality is properly protected. Access is secure and guarantees the confidentiality of your information. The portal’s web pages use the HTTPS protocol. This is short for HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure and can be identified by the first letters of the web address. It encrypts the data that you send, making it impossible for outsiders to view them. Nevertheless, additional security measures are advised at all times. B/CN has taken measures to protect the portal and data transfer. You can protect your own computer by installing firewalls, virus scanners and anti-spyware applications, amongst other things. It is impossible for B/CN to assist you with this.
What are the system requirements and which browsers are supported?
The online portal can be accessed using Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 or 8 or the Apple Macintosh OS X operating system version 10.6 or higher.
Your monitor should have a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768 pixels and 256 colors. Suitable browsers are Internet Explorer 8 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 20 or higher, and Google Chrome. On an Apple computer you can use Safari 5 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 20 or higher, and Google Chrome. Do you still use Internet Explorer 6 or 7? These versions are outdated and are no longer updated by Microsoft to conform to new technologies. Therefore, please do not use them. For a secure browser and an optimal viewing experience we recommend that you use the two most recent versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari or Google Chrome. Your browser’s zoom settings should be at the 100% zoom level. Zooming in and out are not fully supported yet.
